With the growth of personal websites and blogs, the need to add a bit more zest to a website in order to help it stand out has become more important than ever. Therefore, knowing how to add music to your website might be a skill that you will want to eventually acquire. For sure, it is nowhere near as hard to do it as it was just several years ago.
Before even considering adding music, the first thing that you should do is to consider what adding all of that information to your website may do to your visitors in terms of download speed of your website by them. If these music files are too large for intrusive, they could take a bit longer to download, which could lead an inpatient user to just give up and leave.
Once you’ve decided to add your music to the site, you should take a few minutes to consider the kind of format you’re going to use. There are generally two of them, with one of them being a bit more information rich than the other. Those who surf the Internet with a dial-up modem will appreciate it if you use a MIDI file format, which is more commonly known as a.mid file.
Those who want to go for high quality and aren’t too worried about download speeds on the part of those visiting the website can now go with an MP3 (. Mp3) file format. It is high quality and really doesn’t take all that much longer to download, though those on a 56k modem will definitely notice the difference. MP3, though, is much more common as a format then MIDI.
There are normally two different ways to add music. If you have a host, then you can upload your music using a file transfer protocol or FTP client. If you do not want to aggravate or bother your viewers with music that begins as soon as they land at your website you can still create a link and embed the music that way. This will require knowing just a few lines of HTML code.
To do so, just add the following line of code anywhere in the body of your website through the dashboard or behind-the-scenes control panel that your web host has provided music.mid. With this line of code you can not only create a link but also the music file (which is what will go between the quotation marks) that your users can click on easily and quickly.
