A beginner in website creation can use an HTML editor than is built in to Microsoft. It is notepad. Do not use wordpad or your html code will not convert properly. Some scoff at using such a simple editor, however, many experienced programmers find it more than adequate for most designs.

If you want to hurry, you may want buy an editing program. Learn to use it and it will take the place of the free notepad. Buying a picture editing program is almost essential. There are free softwares but a professional one will be better.

You can purchase a course that will teach you HTML. You can just as easily go to one of the tutorials offered free. HTML is the code that instructs the browser how to display your design. It may seem like a lot of tags at first. It is really quite easy.

You are able to look up the tags and how to write them online. There are many sources that will help. You may want to take the easy way and use a WYSIWIG. This is simply a software that gives you the ability to program without learning. What you see is what you get as the acronym implies.

This method is akin to the fast food restaurants that have cashiers push a cash register button with a picture of a cheeseburger on it to add the price. In other words, it does not allow you to understand the actual process. If you want to do one quick website, you may not be interested in learning HTML. This is useful for you.

If you do want to understand the underlying concepts though, you will have to learn HTML and CSS. You need basic computer skills such as managing files, the HTML and a file transfer application to get your website online. File transfer protocol is often referred to as FTP. Or, simply use the WYSIWIG and be guided through the process.

Finally, you will need web space on a server. You will upload your web design to take it public (live on the Internet). There it will be available for the public to view. Your own ISP (Internet service provider) may provide a limited amount of server space.
