Work At Home – Building A Website On The Cheap

Hopefully if you work at home, you know by now that a website is mandatory. The market is simply too competitive for you to put yourself at the disadvantage of not having a website from which to promote your business. Having said this, I hope that you did not panic. While in the past if cost at least a thousand dollars to build a website, today you can do so for much less.

One thing that I need you to understand at the outset, is that just because a web development company operates out of a commercial space, and has several employees, does not mean that they are more competent to build your website. Any company with a physical location has associated overhead costs, which will be passed on to you, the customer. The fact is that I strongly advise you to stay away from such companies.

So what is the solutions? The solution is hiring someone to work at home and complete your website. Most of the time you can hire a web designer with a great amount of experience this way. These designers usually are employed full-time elsewhere, and complete freelance work as a means by which to supplement their income. They have no employees to pay, no commercial space to pay rent on. As a result, a work at home web designer can complete your website at a fraction of the cost.

One thing that I must tell you, is that you must get a sample of any web designer’s work before agreeing to let them create your website. The truth is that not all web designers are equal. As such, you need to know up front that a web designer can put your vision on computer monitors around the world. Make sure that you ask to see their portfolio before moving forward. This is an absolute must.

Finding freelance designers to choose from will not be a problem. There are several websites out there to facilitate this. For example, Elance, Guru, iFreelance, oDesk, and Scriptlance are great freelance portals to work with. Essentially, you will need to register, and then provide of listing of exactly what you need done for your project. Thereafter, freelancers will bid on your project. You will be able to see how satisfied, or dissatisfied, past customers were as each bidder has a rating if they have completed past projects which were commented on by past customers. You have complete control whether to accept or reject a bid.

Of course, I would be remiss if I did not mention the other option of simply purchasing a template, and building your website yourself with a Content Management System (CMS) such as Joomla. The main things which you must keep in mind if you go this route is that you need to choose a template which is highly relevant to your business, and which has not been overused. The thing which is about a CMS is that whenever you need to update or add content, you simply log into your back office and do so. Whichever route you decide to take, it is entirely up to you. Just realize that if you work at home, you must take a route which provides your business with a website.

If you are planning to Work At Home,I can inform you that from personal experience, it is a smart choice. However, anyone planning to Make Money Online in the process, a website will be necessary. The good news is that it is not difficult to build you own website nowadays. Come and check out our website at SOSComplete.com
